Has anyone come across and efficient method to organize calculations within the Meausres.

The issue is pretty simple. I have a cube with 45 Measures of which there are approximately 15 various calculations that users want/need to be able to see each measure by Items like YTD Prior YTD and such. We created a Time Calcs dimension and it works when used in ad-hoc query utilities such as excel, proclarity, SSMS but when using reporting services this method is no longer workable. Microsoft says this is "By Design" in reporting services. We opted for this method to avoid having 675 calculations stored within the Cube.

Has anyone come across an efficient way to structure Calculations that make the cube still useable for a user?

Ok found the answer to this issue. Partially my fault for the manner in which I create my Calcs.

I typically connect directly to by built cube, in my dev enviroment, and build my calcs. THis way I can simply save the calc and then test it in a query. Since a Calc is a meta data edit it requires no cube processing. However I have come to learn through poking around that it does leave some other features out, One of which is the Calculation properties button, this feature is only available when working within the actual Bids solution or project. Clicking this button on the Calculations tab opens a window where you select your calculation and can then assign it to a measure group and or folder.

If you specify a folder and measure goup both then the calculation is placed within the folder that is displayed in the measure group specified.
