SSA Loops

How many SSA disk drawers can you have in one loop?.
In Our current setup we have 3 D40 Disk Drawer's using SSA160 adapters. This setup runs smooth even though IBM suggest that SSA160 adapters should only take 2 drawers.

I would be interested in hearing anyone's experience in this.

You can have 48 Disks in an SSA Loop
96 Disks per Adapter = 6 Drawer

Did you run Raid5 ?

The Problem is the Performance, when you have so a lot of Disks in a SSA Loop.

We run raid10, however I didn't set this up from ssaraid I just created stripped lv's and mirrored them to alternate drawers. Would I have been better using the ssaraid tools to do this?.
