Can a SSA feature button be added to an operator console? I can't seem to get it to work. I system won't let me add it.

Also, is there a feature that can be added to an operator button that indicates new voicemail messages for another extension?

Additional SSA buttons can be added only to a DLC and can be added only to one of the first 10 butons. You must also make sure the button is not occupied by a C.O. line button.

If your customer has a QCC console you are out of luck. The buttons are preprogrammed and cannot be changed.

Thanks. What I’m trying to do is get an extension, which doesn’t have a physical phone, to ring on the operator’s phone and then cover to voicemail. If there was a physical phone I could just enter the feature code to forward it, but there isn’t. Is there a way to make this work?

The operator’s phone is a 4424LD. When I use WinSPM there isn’t an option to put a SSA button on the phone.

Renumber an adjunct extension to be your phantom phone, then use a coverage-primary button on the console to have it ring there. Put the adjunct in the voice mail cover group, and it will go to voice mail if unanswered.

One more question...can the voicemail indication light be programmed to work for other voicemail accounts? Or maybe there is a feature button that can be put on the phone to do this???

On the voicemail question: two answers 1) Yes, easily if you have an Audix VMS, 2) Not so easy if you have Merlin Messaging. So, in the latter, Use a calling group say 775 as your voice mailbox. Put the DLC in as the only member, and have it login to the calling group (an autologout calling group), have the calling group overflow to the VMS calling group, and build a mailbox for 775. In teh "message" section of the calling group programming, have it light up the extension you want. Problem is with this setup, DLC has to be logged into the calling group, and if it is, and misses the call, it will log itself out. It is Possible, it is not smooth.
On the SSA question, a DLC wil not allow any SSA's.

This is not elegant, and you'll need to clear the Message LAMP manually, but you can set the outcalling to #53xxx [where xxx is the extension number to receive the message waiting].
