Does anyone know of a method to run Certify with the fix operation diabled.(scan,no-fix)?
I have an H50 pocessor with a Raid array of 9.1GB 7133 drives. Presuming 30 minutes per drive to scan sequencially would tacke over 30 hrs. The drives normally could be scanned concurrent, except I have been told this would be risky, considering the age of my drives and the potential for a 2nd disk to fail if a problem were uncovered during the certify that would cause sparing to be initiated.

'Other systems I have worked with have a 'Scan,No-fix' mode that only report the errors. This provides a basis for further selective action for repairs.

Does any one kow of such capability?

There are "problems" running certify to raid disks, both SCSI and SSA, diag - certify is not quite smart enough to deal with certifying raided disks. If it encounters a problem ceritfying a disk it goes and finds a copy of the same data stripe and if it can read that then certify passes ! I have even been able to run certify and have it pass on a removed disk !
Where does this leave you? well for SSA you have to rely on the SSA diags that are supposed to run every hour. If they are posting errors then look up those errors in the SSA adapter service guide and deal with them the way the book tells you.
is a good place to start.
