SS Web parts and RSS feeds

Anyone ever added webparts to their sharepoint services home webpage? I would like to add the weather to our companyweb but from what I've read I just need to copy and paste the xml rss feed into the new web part? I tried this but it comes out messed up without links or pictures and some xml codes. Is this another way or am I doing something wrong?
