SS II 9300 12 port GB switch freezes up randomly. Connected are assorted 3 servers, SS II 3000 and SS 3 3300 tx's. In order to get the SS 3 tx's to talk to the 9300, 3Com advised me to disable autoNegotiate on the 9300 end. Worked just fine. Whenever the mood strikes my switch, it will christmas tree until I pull the power. Flashed it several times.
Brought out the backup 9300. Connected to the first switch. Duplicated all autoNegotiate settings, transferred all fibre to it and it worked OK. Until...it locked up randomly.
Now I am switching one fibre at a time to other switch to isolate affected ports. Found it was our Help Desk switch, SS II 3000. Swapped HD switch out with backup SS II 3000 and 9300 still locks up.
Management is starting to get ticked.
