I have set up a srolling text area on a page which scrolls down / up when a user clicks on an arrow gif next to the text - I took the script from this page here :

Problem is, the layer with the text on is 1000 or so pixels deep, so the page becomes 1000 pixels deep, and the scrollbar appears on the right of the browser allowing the user to scroll down - as my nav is at the bottom of the page, it makes the whole thing look a bit messy. Any way round this?

use clip on the bottom layer. it should clear up that problem, you'll have to re-clip each time you move it though, clip by the opposite it has moved.
