I have an SRG50 with all the appropriate patches. All of the SRG IP terminal features are working (phones redirect properly, etc.). My problem is that I cannot setup calls from SRG to CS1000 over the virtual trunks. Calls from CS1000 to SRG complete fine. These calls come into play for the 5 analog stations at the SRG side. I can monitor the NRS at the CS1000 and see the proper digits being resolved so I know it is not the basic routing services on the SRG50.

Anyone run into this before?

Thanks
Rob

Do those analog sets on the SRG have access to the pool that the IP trunks are in (pool N for example)?

Not much magic at this point - it's same as a BCM for analog devices.

Yes, I am accessing the trunks fine and sending out the proper digits for resolution at the NRS, but when the call tries to setup it times out.

Thanks
Rob

Just trying to get a better idea of the picture here - you can call from the CS1000 to the analog phones on the SRG, but not vice versa?

correct

thanks for any thoughts you may have

Do you have destination codes in place on the SRG for the main office extensions that are pointed to the correct route/pool?

No, right now I just have a DC used as an access code directly to the IP trunks. After dialing the access code, I dial the 4 digit extension of the phone on the PBX.

Do you have the dialing plan cocnfigured as CDP, and have you configured the correct VPNI/Zone info?

I've never used access codes on SRG - if the main office extensions are 23, I'd build a destination code of 23, point it to a route (lets say route 3). Route 3 is configured as private, pointing to the pool that your IP trunks are in. Absorb none, and that should be all that is needed.

If you do "test local mode" on one of the IP sets, are you able to call the main office then?

Yes, all of those items have been configured.
No, when I have a phone in local mode, I also cannot call the extensions at the main office.

use bcm monitor to find the cause!!!
you should check the trunk media paramters and set both jitter buffer sizes to the same value: 20ms or 30ms!

Well, yet another case of an "invisible firewall". The customer had a firewall blocking traffic from the data network to the voice network. Once removed, everything worked. When we originally asked the Data Engineer if there were any firewalls, we were promised no. Today when we talked again we were told about a firewall in passing as if it didn't matter.

Yet another reason not to try and do this stuff remotely. I wish I could physically see everything that was at a customer site.

Oh well, thanks for all the ideas.
