SRG FATEL error H.323

Hi all,

I’m having a problem with 5 x BCM50’s that have been patched fully with all the latest 50 patches and then the keycode applied to upgrade to SRG. The issue im having is that when I try to change the setting to “Gatekeeper Resolved” in the IPTrunk h.323 I get a FATEL error H.323 protocol stack failed to initialise.

I have tried to stop and start the feps service and have done a level 2 reset and started again but get the same thing. I have found that I don’t get this error if I set the setting to “Direct”.

Anyone encountered this, or have any suggestions on this issue?

I have worked with the SRG50 many times without any problems registering to the gatekeeper. Do you have the endpoint built on the gatekeeper? How did you enter the H323ID in the SRG50? It has to be entered as NAME:XXXXXX where XXXXXX is the H323ID. You have to have the word NAME: prior to the H323ID to register it properly. Is this a 1.0 or a 2.0 SRG50?

Hi Rob,

Thx for the reply. I too have installed lots of these and never had a problem. As my question states the feps service just fails to stay up, it just restarts over and over again with a fatel error.

I would be interested to know if this is a 1.0 or a 2.0 that you are working on. I am upgrading from a SRG50 1.0 to 2.0 tonight and if I run into the same thing after the upgrade it helps if I know that someone else at least has the same problem.
