SRG 50 .. cant convert BCM 50 to SRG 50

Hi all!

i did try to create a SRG 50 but my BCM 50 keep on being a BCM 50...
I did install the SRG 50 Update and after that i include the SRG 50 Keycode but after reboot it still said BCM 50 and not SRG 50 even it show the Keycode in the Keycodelist..
I also tried to do all the updates b4 entering the keycode but nothing work... any ideas?

Is this a new system, or was it a functioning BCM 50 in it's previous life?

Ran into a similar problem a while back - try doing a level 2 reset, then repeat the SRG update and keycode installation. If that doesn't work, you might just have an unhappy system on your hands.

its a brand new system and was never installed as bcm so far. i did do already 3 or 4 level 2 reset and tried with and without newest patches. it accept the keycode and i can see 2x 4 srgip users enabled but i cant find any srg settings and on system there is still BCM50... (

The SRG settings show up under Resources, Survivable Remote Gateway. If nothing shows up there, I'd call Nortel and see what might be up. I haven't played with a SRG 50 in about six months, so my memory isn't very fresh.

hmm im just scared if maybe i did something wrong because i did always use bcm 200/400 as SRG

here the steps i did.....

- booting bcm
- connecting with element manager
- setting time and time zone
- installing the srg software update
- bcm start reboot after short time
- connecting again and loading keycode file
- keycode file successful loaded and reboot required
- doing bcm reboot under the reset functions
- after reboot system still show bcm50
- no srg settings under resources
- i can see only one keycode activ SRVBL IP


i did also try to apply all the patches for bcm 50 b4 and after i did enter keycode... i did already 6 level 2 reset and tried everything that come into my mind.....

i just want to make sure i did go the right way and didnt missed anything... so anybody can confirm its exactly the right way?

I did try on a different hardware but it still dont like to convert to a SRG 50... Has anybody build a SRG 50 the past few weeks and can describe the exact way how he build it? I really dont have any glue whats wrong here.... I would like to know every single step b4 im going to report it on Nortel.... thx so far!

Which model BCM50 are you working on, BCM50a or BCM50e?

The reason why I ask is that on an earlier thread, it looks like it can only be set to SRG on these models.

Its a plain BCM 50 w/out more than the regular 4 Ports....
