Hello!

What is the difference between src.rpm and a i386.rpm ?

Thanks!

Glad to be here!

The ones with src have source code and allow you to do some tweaking before you build and install the package. With i386 or noarch, the packages are precompiled binaries which will work on the intel family of processors from 386 on up, including pentiums. With these you have no choice of what gets compiled in or where it will be installed. Source rpms and tarballs whould be for the more advanced user.

Thanks, that clears it all up for me.
