I have Qmail as my MTA and SquirrelMail has by webmail interface browser..The problem is when I login into SquirrelMail and compose a message. Mail appears to be sent, but doesn't go anywhere. Plus I'm unable to receive mail as well and I'm not getting any errors, but mail just doesn't arrive.

When I do a qmailctl stat it states
messages in queue are 40
Messages in queue but not yet processed: 14

When I looked at my mbox, I can see previous messages being sent/received and then I created the ./Maildir for the users..Now I just don't receive or see anything in the log files. Is there a problem with my squirrelmail setup or my qmail setup I just don't know..

Currently my conf.pl looks like this under server settings:

SquirrelMail Configuration : Read: config.php (1.2.0)
---------------------------------------------------------
Server Settings
1. Domain : domain.net
2. IMAP Server : localhost
3. IMAP Port : 143
4. Use Sendmail/SMTP : SMTP
6. SMTP Server : localhost
7. SMTP Port : 25
8. Authenticated SMTP : false
9. POP Before SMTP : false
10. Server : uw
11. Invert Time : false
12. Delimiter : detect

And under my /home/doug/Maildir, all I have is

drwx------ 2 doug root 4096 Jun 24 02:05 cur
drwx------ 2 doug root 4096 Jun 29 01:14 new
drwx------ 2 doug root 4096 Jun 29 01:14 tmp

I'm a little loss for answers or solutions

Anyone have/had a problem simlar to this....Any help would be more than welcomed...

First of all, if you're running Squirrelmail 1.2.0, you're way behind the current code version and should upgrade immediately for security purposes.

Second, I would stop trying to debug this through squirrelmail. It is more useful to send messages into your qmail from the outside and try picking them up through POP3 or a local mail client. Once you're convinced that the accounts are running properly for in-/out-bound mail, then try including Squirrelmail.

As always, I recommend ppl view this excellent howto which includes some important Squirrel setup tips, which may be relevant here.

check group and permissions. you aren't giving the process a chance to write to those files unless it is own by 'doug'. squirrelmail runs as the webserver user ( or something). so the process is unable to append any new mail to your ~ directory.

not that it's the cause of this problem, but will probably hinder your debugging of it.
