I installed squirrelmail as per the web site directions. But if I I get the error "you don't have permission to access /webmail on this server.

If I try i get the error the requested URL /squirrelmail wsaa not found on this server.

I have checked my permissions as per the install instructions. Everything installed fine.

Any ideas?

TIA

If squirrelmail was installed outside of your webspace, then you can create a symbolic link to /squirrelmail. For example you can create a sub-directory called "webmail" in your "html" (DocumentRoot) directory. Then create the link to /squirrelmail inside of that. Edit httpd.conf and add the new directory container with permissions just like the other containers. You should be able to use squirrelmail for all your vhosts from one location with this setup.

The error you are getting on the /webmail folder is a permissions issue. You need to 'chown -r u.g' on that folder with the user and group you run your webserver with.

OK, using what you listed above, I got I working. But I have this problem now.

I am running Redhat 9, postmail, POP3, IMAP and squirrelmail. I can send and receive mail when using Outlook express. But when using squirrelmail I can receive but not send. In the mail logs it shows that the connection was refused.

Any ideas?
