Hai,

I am new to Linux. Could someone please guide me in installing Squirrelmail & PHP4. I have downloaded both from their respective websites.

It depends on what distribution you are using. If it's redhat, mandrake etc, then it'll be easier to donwload the appropriate prepared .rpm installation files. Head over to and select the latest rpm files for squirrelmail and php4 (you'll need apache too).

If you're using something like Debian, use the dselect program to select the packages to download and install.
