Your Squirrel Host PC (POS Server) is full of sales data that needs to be backed up & removed.
Buy a box of floppy disks and "mark" them all for backup by going into Housekeeping>Backup & Restore>Mark Backup.
This puts a tiny file on the floppy disks to indicate that they are squirrel backup disks.
Then you start the "backup & remove" process. This takes the sales day data from your squirrel host pc and copies it to the floppy disk (backs it up) then it removes it from your Squirrel Host PC (remove). This frees up space on your squirrel host pc.
Alternatively -- if you squirrel host pc has a CD-Writer drive you can do the same thing with a CD-RW (providing you can format it with UDF, such as DirectCD by Roxio or InCD by Nero)
Your problaby wondering -- how to I know what to backup & remove? Go into Housekeeping>Day Operations>Day Directory and type in ???? then press <enter> This will give you a list of days on the hard drive by month & day. Typically, you see data that starts in a month and keeps going for every day of the year -- just jot it down...then proceed with the backup & remove process.
If this is stopping you from starting POS -- because the Squirrel Host PC is full and there is no drive space availabe - you can typically remove about 10 days and POS will start. If you are running Windows or OS/2 (anything but DOS) you can continue to backup & remove while POS is up & running.
Hope this helps.
P.S. Don't forget to update your gross/net sales with the data before you remove it.
Also, don't forget to label the disks and store them in a safe place in case you need to recover this sales data.
