How do you determine if your RH squid proxy server is caching or not? Is there a command I can just type to find this out? Do I need to look in my squis.conf file to find this out?

Thanks

if you look in the access.log and cache.log (in the logs directory) you can find out info about squids cache.

if you look into the cache directory and it gets bigger, thats also another hint :)

if you are on a slow connection and it doesn't take long to download the same page on 2 different machines, then it's caching that as well :)

the access.log file is probably the one you want, though.

How do I disable caching if Squid is caching?

Thanks

you could probably defaine a couple of lines like:
Code:
acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
no_cache deny all

haven't done it myself, because as far as i can tell squid-cache is meant for caching :)
