squid problem !

i have juste downloaded and done:
./configure
make
make install
/usr/local/squid/sbin/squid -z
/usr/local/squid/sbin/squid

and i configured my browser for: proxy IP_OF_SQUID and port 3128

But all the sites requested i have the web page of the SQUID_PC.

where is the problem ?

here is some lines of squid.conf i think i must one of theme :

httpd_accel_port 80
httpd_accel_single_host off
httpd_accel_with_proxy off
httpd_accel_uses_host_header off

Hi,

Are you setting squid as httpd accelerator? Comment out those line and restart your squid. And are you running http server as well on your machine?

no just want to doing web cach and not httpd server accelerator, and yes the Linux have a webserver running.

all those line are commented and those values are the default.

HI,

Are you sure your proxy cache is running? try this command:

netstat -an | grep 3128

You should get something back. And please paste here. Did you change anything in squid.conf file after the installation?

Yes And when i have set the proxy address in the browser to the IP of LINUX and the port 3128.

if i stop squid an error is shown.

so it is started well.
