I have setup SLES 9 with Squid but i continue to get "no route to host" error from any IE browser. Internet works for a few minutes and then stop woking.
We have another Suse box with Squid loaded and its working fine.
I have now setup Squid 5 times and have check all configurations several times but with no luck. Even if i Google the problem i get almost nothing on this problem.

this seems to be a networking/dns related problem not squid ...
have you tried to access those sites from the squidbox? are you peering your squid with some parent or directly connecting to the net? any more info on your config would be fine ;-)

Yes the squidbox has a direct link to ISP proxy and is working fine. Only those computers linked to the squid proxy get this "no route to host" error.
What networking/dns issues may cause this problem as we have 2 squid boxes and the other one is working fine for 2 years now.
I have compared them and cant seem find any difference.
I have setup this extra box about 5 times now still get this error.
Any help will be appreciated.

normally a no route to host means that 1 of the 2 machines is not on or it's on a different subnet.

Its like follwoing a map while driving and all of a sudden the road ends.

ok.but all our pc's and servers are on the same subnet

I would recommend checking things like network address, network mask and stuff that can cause a) improper route table b) problems resolving domain names ...

What do you mean by your previous question...ping BOTH by dns and ip.
If you meant ping both Squid boxes then yes i can ping both boxes.
Not sure what you mean with ping by dns? nslookup?
