I have configured Squid but it is only working for a few minutes until it gives me "no route to host" in my IE page.
Some people say i must look at IP tables but i'm not using that.
I have another Squid proxy running on Suse Ent 9 which has a basic setup and has been working for months but i can seem to find any difference that is causing the second one to fail after a while.
We using a proxy at our ISP to connect to the internet.

That doesn't sound like a Squid problem at all. It sounds like you don't have your default gateway set, or that it is pointing to an invalid destination.

If you do
Code:
route -n
as root, do you have a 0.0.0.0 entry? Is it pointing to the right default gateway?

yes i have 0.0.0.o entry and is pointing to our default gateway.
Some people say no route to host can also mean caching problems???

I have setup a another Squid box and its giving the same problem from users browsers....no route to host

Calling on all Squid experts: Users get "no route to host" error from IE browser after a few minutes
