Squid administration

I am running a small network and it is connected to Internet using a Linux gateway. I delete log files in the /var/log/squid folder everyday to keep the network running. I don't know, is there anything more needs to be done?

you shouldn't even have to delete the log files if you installed squid from an official package - in fact squid does not always like this.
if you are asking a more general question about the machine then make sure it uses the firewall features to protect itself and the rest of your network from the internet.
