Is this formula correct? does anyone know. To calculate sq. ft.

length x width / 144

Thank you

length x width / 144 is correct if you are using inches. For example, 48" x 120" /144 = 40 sq. ft.

Gracias!! Let me ask you this...what would be the formula to calculate linear sq. ft. in inches.

"linear sq. ft. in inches"??? Let me know if I understand your question correctly. If you want to know the linear inches to get "X" amount of square feet it would be like this:

Sq. ft. x 144 / width of material.

For example: You have a coil of sheetmetal 24" wide and you need to know how many linear inches you need to get 120 sq. ft.
120 sq. ft. x 144 / 24" wide = 720 linear inches. You would need 720" of this 24" material to get 120 sq. ft.

To check this: length x width / 144
720" x 24" / 144 = 120 sq. ft.
