SQLstates & ERRORs

When I try to update a record in the db, I get an ERROR.
"SQLstate 12001 - UNABLE TO UPDATE RECORD"

What kind of error this is? What can I do now?
And what is this SQLstate 12001?
Anyone knows a list, where I can find all the SQLstates (with a description)? E.g., I wanna know what this 12001-State is.
