I have noticed recently in task manager that SQLSERVER (sqlservr.exe) is running twice one using 250MB of memory and the other using 20MB, I have stopped the SQL server using the SQL Manager but it still leaves one sqlservr.exe running and it won't let me end task it.

Is this normal ?
If not how do I trace the fault ?

TIA

Liam

Sounds like you have 2 instances installed. Check the services control pannel to stop the second one.
