Hello folks,

I am new to SQLBase, although I have been a DBA for many years with DB2, SQL Server, and Informix.

Could you tell me how can I view the log for SQLBase? For example if I cannot connect to a data base, where would you look?

Appreciate in advance.

Ivan

okay, there are some different ways for the logging:

the first one is to have a look in the FAIL.SQL-file in the sqlbase installation directory. but there will only be logged the heavy errors.

to view some normal errors (f.e.cannot connect) you have to enable the auditing of the database. but be careful. if you log to much informations the server will be very slow, so only enable the auditing for the sqlbase-server if you are searching for a specified error! (Audit can be enabled with the SQLConsole)
