SQL2K & Terminal Srevices & BackupExec 9.0

On a new build W2KSvr w/SP3, then Terminal Server in Application mode. Install SQL2K w/SP3A. No errors noted after initial reboots. On installing BackupExec 9.0 in its own instance On reboot A service failed to start appears and get errors Event ID 7023 Error 1065:The database specified does not exist. A that point can not access BUExec
and no mention found at either MSoft or Veritas of this issue. Also used Veritas Direct Acccess program to no avail.

joegone, check your version of MDAC..

HKLM\Software\microsoft\data access - check the version key, what version is it?

If it anything other that earlier than 2.71, update it - you can get it from Microsoft's website.
If it's 2.8, you need to downgrade it - check the Microsoft website on how to do this - and then upgrade it to 2.71.
