If ssms isn't on your system then it didn't install for some reason. Check the install log for any errors. By default it should be in the path (at least it is on both my systems).

Yes on SQL 2005 it was called SQLWB.exe. It's a hold over from when SQL 2005 was in early beta and Management Studio was being called the SQL Work Bench. By the time they changed the product name to Management Studio it was to late to rename the file.
