Can someone help me make some sense of this Access SQL statement? What is it doing in plain terms?

UPDATE Order_Info SET Order_Info.ATTRIBUTE_8 = "BACKORDERED" WHERE ((([Order_Info]![ATTRIBUTE8]) Like "BACK*"));

Set ATTRIBUTE_8 to "BACKORDERED" for each record in Order_Info having ATTRIBUTE8 starting with "BACK"

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thank you. That helps a lot. I'm not sure what the purpose of the ! is though.

Could I use:
Order_Info.ATTRIBUTE8
in place of:
[Order_Info]![ATTRIBUTE8]

?
