Hi,

I've created a report in CR 9 with the subreport retrieving data from a view. This report works perfectly in Crystal but when called from accpac macro, it gives me "Report Error Occured".

I've checked to ensure that the passed parameter from the macro, .ini file & crystal report is the same. BUT i'm still getting the error message.

I really hope somebody can help.
Please advice.

Which version of Accpac? Crystal 9 is not supported until 5.2, and even then not all features are supported.

And, you can get better messages by running the report from the Accpac desktop, entering the parameters manually.

Hi,

i'm using Accpac 5.2 with SP 3.

I'm running the report for the macro i created in accpac.
Is there a better way to solve this issue.

Anyway is it possible to use sql views for reports running from accpac?

What messages did you get when you ran it from the Accpac desktop?

Hi,

It is still "report error occured".

Hi Jay,

I think i get what u mean by running it from the accpac desktop.

When i did that, the system prompt me with the following message "The table 'vwInvSimRpt' could not be found"

vwInvSimRpt is the view i created in sql to retrieve certain information.
Any idea how to solve this?
Please Advice.

I just tested a Crystal 8.5 report with a view in a subreport, and it worked fine on an Accpac 5.2 desktop. FWIW, the view was in the same database as the Accpac company.

Hi,

I have managed to solve my problem.
1st - I uninstall CR9 from my pc.
2nd - Install CR8.5
3rd - Create odbc connection on all client pc that is using accpac
4th - Rerun my report that is using sql views.

I think the "Report Error" message is due to the absenceof an odbc connection. Not too sure if i'm doing the right things but this works for me.
