Hello,

Could somebody please confirm (because I cant stop rubbing my eyes) that a SQL server that is version 2000-8.00.194 is a SQL 2000 with no service packs applied, right?

You are right. No service packs.

run this, this will return the service pack level

select serverproperty('productlevel')

Returns:
'RTM' = shipping version.
'SPn' = service pack version
'Bn', = beta version.
