As part of a Database Maintenance Plan, we backup database transation log files but have the "Remove files older than:" checkbox set to 2 days.

The problem we have is that this option of deleteing transaction files of older than two days is being ignored i.e. we have many-many .trn files in the each sql database backup directories...

Can anyone offer any advise, i.e. is there perhaps an alternative option to remove backed-up transaction files older than so many days...

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

ARe you sure it is getting to that part of your maint plan? Are you running multiple backup types from one maint plan. Are you trying to backup TLogs that have a database recovery model set to simple?
Another thing to check is your path to your .trn files. Are they all within different sub-folders?
