sql srvr stored proc, .net asp app, db connection failing

I am administering a test CE environment.
I got some reports from a developer recently and they run ok in CMC when set to 'custom' database config info.

They will not run via the web app the same developer built, unless they are configured to use 'original' database connection information. The application gets a 'sql server logon failed' message.

CE10, asp.net application, CR10 reports are using sql server stored procedures.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

Turns out the way to correct this is in the custom application code.
