We have a somewhat odd situation. We have a test environment for our new up-and-coming ERP. The ERP has been running and being tweaked on this system for approx. 6 months, but now it's becoming apparent that we need more space for the final work before rollout. The existing box has four 18GB drives. In the interest of time it was decided to build a new system in parallel while the old one is still being used for development, (the new system has 32GB drives instead of 18). We managed to borrow another box for a short time for this project. When the new system is configured, we will then swap the 32gb drives into the original box and in effect have a new system. The only possible problem is that the original box has 2 processors, the one we borrowed for the new build has four. The main application running on this box is SQL Server 2000. I am wondering if there will be an issue configuring the drives with SQL Server on a 4-processor system and moving them to a two-processor system?

Should be no problem. You are only dealing w/ discs.

Thanks
