OK.... wow

I un-installed 2005 Reporting Services today. After that the MSSQL service and Agent were running.

(This is what I ran to do the uninstall: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\setup.exe /qn REMOVE=RS_Server, RS_Web_Interface, RS_tools INSTANCENAME=MSSQLSERVER)

But after rebooting the server, those services will not start. The Event Viewer Application log shows:

"Faulting application sqlservr.exe, version 2005.9.4035.0, faulting module Kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.1830, fault address 0x00015dea"

Do I have any options other than to reinstall SQL Server entirely?

Thanks! John

Thanks, yelworcm. Nothing beyond what I already knew.

Today I removed/uninstalled SS. But even that has been problematic (to get it entirely removed) but I am making progress. Then I will reinstall. I'm learning that the Reporting Services component is difficult to install, configure.
