I have an application in Access 2000 that is linked(ODBC) to SQL Server 2000. The problem I am having is in my Inventory table. If my Inventory table has more than 1000 records in it, SQL Server times out on update. Has anyone ever seen this problem? I can't seem to get a handle on the problem. Coud it be a front end issue?

When I zap the tables, I can update the Inventory table.

Thanks

Are you trying to update all the records in the table or just one? If only one do you have an index on the primary key? If you are trying to update only one record and you are not indexed properly you are probably getting a timeout because SQL has to scan the whole table to find the record you are trying to update.
