SQL Server Registration

I have my callmanager server register as local under Interprise Manager- Microsoft SQL Servers- SQl Server Group. I've heard that best practice is to have it register under the server hosname instead of local. Any thoughts

That's what I usually do; I ran into an issue (can't remember what exactly, but I know I had an issue) with registering the SQL server as local...
