Currently my "SQL Server" name is showing (local), how to register it to a proper name ??

1.Ping your computer, get the IP address
2.Go to Client Network Utility, Select Alist tab, click on Add, put Server Alias as the name you want it to be, Select Network Libraries as TCP/IP, Copy and Paste your computer IP address into Server Name column, Click OK.
3.Go to Enterprise Manager, Expend your SQL Server Group, Right click on your Server Group, select SQL Server Registration. You will see the alias you just add is in the selected list.Select the name and add it.
