Hello,
I am working on 2 separate projects. One requires SQL Server 6.5 Client, and the other SQL Server 2000 Personal Server.
Project A:
I installed SQL Server 2000 Personal Server on on Computer, created a Database on my server, got SQL Mail running, created and was in the midst of testing a number of newly created procedures.
Then I was asked to work on Project B as well... I installed SQL Server 6.5 Client (and service packs). NOW WHEN I OPEN SQL SERVER 2000 ENTERPRISE MANAGER AND TRY TO START MY SERVER I GET AN ERROR SAYING THAT THE "CONNETION COULD NOT BE ESTABLISHED TO SERVER-NAME REASON: SQL SERVER DOES NOT EXIST OR ACCESS DENIED" Aaah!! I think the SQL SERVER 6.5 client install totally blew away my work for project A!!! (I have backup copy of DB on another server, and scripts are in Visual Source Safe) I searched my computer for the database I had on this server - it is gone?! Please tell me that I don't have to re-install SQL Server Personal Server and reconigure SQL Mail!!!
Can anyone shed some light regarding this situation?
