SQL SERVER NAME CHANGE

i have sql server standard edition running on a windows 2000 server.
i am going to join the server to a new domain, and also have to chnage the computer name.
i did this in a test environment and got the error after restarting

' sql server is corrupt or the installation was tampered with'

after changing the machine back to its original name, and oputting back to the old domain, it was fine again.

any help please? thanks

You may also need to update originating_server in msdb..sysjobs to point at the new server name.

DTS can be used in a similar way.
