I am currently trying to connect to a DB2 database on AS400 system. The problem I'm having is that I dont have the the "odbc" driver for the AS400 server and I do not know what to use for the connection string when I get prompt for it.

Please help...
THank you!

First, you can't use SQL Server Management Studio to connect to an AS/400. You have to use the DB2 management tools.

Second, in order to connect to a database you have to have the ODBC drivers installed. Microsoft provedes the SQL Server ones with Windows since they write both products. Other products require different ODBC drivers.

Thank you for respponding... I'm able to connect to the db2 database by using access2003, why is that? What good DB2 management tools do recommend?
