If use SQl server as the data sotore. How many per device licenses are needed for a server farm?

It looks like depending on the number of the citrix servers. Because each citrix server need to talk with the SQL Server to make sure the static information is update, so communicating between the SQL Server and citrix servers happens all the time, in that case each citrix server need separate license.

I think its only one but I will check.

please let me know once you have the answer, thanks!

From Citrix;

you need one SQL license for each metaframe server, unless you are using per processor licensing.

Can I wake this old thread?

How about using Server plus user CAL? If all the citrix server use only one SQL user, does that mean we only need 1 user CAL?

Thanks!
