sql server jobs

Hi,

I have a restore job which is called from another restore job and it keeps failing,

but the job history shows the job as passed......but it does not pass because the job runs for 0 time, but it is restoring a 40gb database and normally takes 20 mins or so.

Anyone had this kind of prob before?

Have you check the "On failure action:" in the Advanced tab of the step that is firing off this restore. It may have inadvertently been set to "Quit the job reporting Success" instead of "Quit the job reporting failure".
