Hi experts,

We are having a problem with our SQL Server 2000 server.
It is SQL Server 2000 SP 3 - no recent changes to O/S or SQL Server.

The sqlservr.exe process is using 900 MB of RAM. We cant even view a list of tables within Enterprise Manager....get Not Responding in task manager.

It may be rebuiding indexes or who knows what.

Does anyone know of a way to determine just what SQL Server processes/tasks are running under the covers ?

Thanks, John

update - it finally finished (whatever it was doing). Ok now. John

For future reference you can run sp_who in Query Analyzer to see what processes are running and any blocking that may be happening. You can then run dbcc InputBuffer(spid) to show the command that the specific spid is running.
