SQL Server Express and BI Developer Studio

hello,
I am working with an instance of SQL Server express. I have to create some reports and understand that I can use BI Developer studio to do this. I went through all of the installs, but BI Developer studio doesn't seem to have installed. I rerun the install program (From the sql express toolkit download on the MS web site). When I choose the option to install the BI Dev Studio, it says that it cannot install b/c it has already been installed on the server.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? I really need to get this up and running to continue with the project.

the only thing I can figure is that I have a bad install of BIDS. Is there a way that I can uninstall this so that I can try to get a clean reinstall?

You'll need to go to control panel and go to change on sql server express. there should be a common components section in there I think. Or it will be under the express kit

I haven't done much with that express kit and how it install the components though but I'm pretty sure you'll need to remove them from within the add/remove sections.

I will have to check, but I don't remember seeing the options to uninstall there.
I will post back tomorrow with my findings.
