Sql Server Errror 1326 when trying to connect

I am wondering if someone can help me figure out what exactly is going wrong here. I am trying to connect to a SQL database from a Citrix Metaframe XPE server at initial setup. This server is running Win2k SP3. The SQL server is running Win2k SP2 SQL2000 SP2. I am able to ping the server from the Citrix box with no problem by name and by address. The user name and password is a valid user name for this database as well. I have connected using enterprise mgr and ran a quick query to verify I am using correct username and password. We have 7 other servers conencting to this database using the same userid and password. The data base is the data store for Citrix. Any help woud be appreciated.

When you connect via Enterprise Manager, is that from the CITRIX machine that is having the problems?

When you say you are trying to connect at initial setup; do you mean when you start the CITRIX for the day? Are you running a script to do this (connect)? If it's a script, have you double checked the logon id and password to make sure there's no typos?

By initial setup I mean within the Citrix install process you are asked to join a server farm and then the type of connection needed to be used to connect to the Data Store. This step shows an ODBC connection using SQL Server. You are then prompted to select the serever and the type of authetication to be used. The client configuration settings are using named pipes to the SQL server with the proper id and password. This is all done thru a wizard setup from within the Citrix install process. No I did not try the Enterprise Mgr from this machine. I will attempt to do that.
