hi guys, i am trying to connect to my backend tables in sql server 2000 from my front end access database and i keep getting this error message:

Connection Failed:

SQLState: 01000

SQL Server Error 1326

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Named Pipes]ConnectionOpen (CreateFile())

Connection Failed:

SQLState 08001

SQL Server Error: 1326

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Client unable to establish connection

After doing research for this error message i saw that it could be something with the MDAC version so i ran my component checker:
for my client computer is MDAC 2.8 SP1 on windows xp sp2 , when i checked my server is MDAC 2.8 RTM. Can this be the problem? if not what else could it be? any help will be greatly apreciate it.
