I'm attempting to update information in a table that was moved to SQL using the upsizing wizard in Access 2000. I can append a new record, but can't delete or update without getting the 'Operation must be an updatable query' error. I can do updates and deletes on other tables that have been converted so I know permissions are not the issue. Any ideas? Could it be the lack of an index for the table?

Usually has to do with the type of recordset you have created... specifically, the lockType -- needs to be something other than adReadOnly (1)

FYI -
Turned out the linked table was created without a unique index since one did not exist in the SQL table. I deleted the linked table in Access and re-added and specified the field to use as an index. Once this was done, it worked.
