I have an issue with a third party application which wants SQL Server 2000 to be installed with SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS collation.

I am unable to find which option I want when installing the server.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Ian.

ALTER DATABASE MyDatabase COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS

“I sense many useless updates in you... Useless updates lead to defragmentation... Defragmentation leads to downtime...Downtime leads to suffering..Defragmentation is the path to the darkside.. DBCC INDEXDEFRAG and DBCC DBREINDEX are the force...May the force be with you" --

Thanks, but I'm looking at the actual server not database level - this product is such quality, that it checks the server collation and demands it to be the same as well..

I understand where to change the server collation in the setup routine. I just can't work out which one I want as none match the name there install provided.

Thanks.

Ian.

To check for the server leve use this
select SERVERPROPERTY ( 'collation' )

“I sense many useless updates in you... Useless updates lead to defragmentation... Defragmentation leads to downtime...Downtime leads to suffering..Defragmentation is the path to the darkside.. DBCC INDEXDEFRAG and DBCC DBREINDEX are the force...May the force be with you" --

That looks to be the default collation that SQL Server installs with. Unless there is some international angle in this one.

When installing you get to a screen with some radio buttons. One of them will be advanced, or custom or something. Select that one and you'll get a screen with some additional options including the server collation.
