Hello all once again. I have a quick question about sql server and certificate authority. Here is the situation: I have a server with SQL Server 2000 installed and I have a certificate installed. This server is also used as a web server so IIS has "SSL" turned on and "requests certificates from clients" turned on because I wanted to have a secure site that requires a certificate. I want to have this same situation happen with sql server from a remote user. Can I forced sql server to check for a certificate from the client side when a client tries to connet to the server to use query analyzer????? Any help would do on answering this question. I have been looking into this over the past 2 days and I am getting confused on what to. I have looked at this article from Microsoft, but it did not work
Is this supposed to work? Thank you in advance.

That KB article doesn't say that you can have the client have a cert. I believe that SQL Server only supports basic SSL over the connection, not client required certs.

Can anyone back me up, or correct me here.

Denny
