sql server bug - Error 9002...The log file for temdb is full ?

I keep getting the following error message to the Event Viewer on our sql server(up to once a day and the service needs to be restarted ! )<br><br>Error 9002<br>Severity Level 19<br><br>The log file for database tempdb is full. Back up the transaction log for the database to free up some log space. <br><br>Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in sql server 7.0 (<A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> and say that it has been solved with servicepack 2 !<br><br><br>I have installed sp 1 and 2 but still this error keeps on coming.<br><br>Is there someone having the same problem there ? And how is is possible to inform mister Microsoft about such problems ? <br><br>I was surfing theyr support center for over an hour without any luck !!<br><br><br><br><br><br>
 
Good mornning !<br><br>Please ask this questions:<br><br>1. Does Your tempdb database has &quot;Automatically grow file&quot; option set for log file?<br>2. Does Your tempdb database has &quot;Truncate log on checkpoint&quot; option set for log file?<br>3. How much disk free space on partition, which hold Your SQL Server system databases?<br>4. Does the expanding of tempdb up to 35-40% of the most biggest user SQL databases help?<br> <p>Nepomnjashiy N.
