I have imported some tables from an Access 2000 database onto an SQL Server. Some of the fields in the tables had an autonumber format, however SQL Server converted them to a number format. Does SQL Server not support autonumber? [sig][/sig]

SQL Server does not have an explicit &quot;autonumber&quot; format. Integers are typically used for Identity-type columns, which is the closest thing I can think of to AutoNumber. [sig]<p>Robert Bradley<br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= - Visual FoxPro Development</a><br> [/sig]

SQL Server does have the auto number functionality. It is called Identity. [sig]<p>John A. Gilman<br><a href=mailto:gms@uslink.net>gms@uslink.net</a><br>[/sig]
